So why are there two of each and which do you use when?
There are two sets of options because there are two possible deployment scenarios:
dedicated host and same host.
A dedicated host deployment runs HANA and dynamic tiering on separate machines. Use the second option, Add Hosts to the SAP HANA System and Remove Hosts from the SAP HANA System for this kind of deployment.
A same host deployment runs both components on the same machine. Use the first option Add Host Roles and Remove Host Roles for this kind of deployment.
