Nice Article
Hello Daya,
I am on the way to update the installed Version BO BI [ 4.2 SP02 (14.2.2.1975) ]. Target is the latest BO BI 4.2 SP03 Patch2.
But the Check Prerequisites faild with the following "Minimum Support package version"
Does it mean, i can not directly install the 4.2 SP03 Patch 2? Do i must install the update package BIPLATS4203_0-80001044 (4.2 SP03) first, than install the BIPLATSVR4203P_2-80001044 (4.2 SP03 Patch2) and at the end the latest hotfix?
Best Regards
Ralf
Hi Ralf,
As per the error message SP package that you downloaded is not synced hence better to download from below path

Hi Daya,
I am new to SAP BODS. I created a local repository tried to execute a job. But it got failed stating that "The job server you selected is not working".
Can you please suggest how to add a local repository to existing repository as in the "SAP Data Services Server Manager" I am not able to add a new job sever.
Your help will be highly appreciated and helpful to me.

Hi Daya,
We are planning to updated from 4.1 sp 5 patch 3 to 4.2 sp 3 patch 9. We need to increase the server capacity and would like to know the best path?
Do we have to install the new servers on 4.1 sp5 patch 3 and then upgrade them or do we install 4.2 on the servers and move the content? In case the path is to move the content which tool do we use?
Thanks in advanced
Kind regards
Brian
Hi Brian,
Better approach is first do the server sizing and then upgrade the environment, regarding server sizing please refer SAP server sizing guide, as well as SAP sample reports mentioned in above link "SAP Business Intelligence 4.2: New Auditing Universe and Reports", "SAP BusinessObjects BI4 Sizing Guide https://archive.sap.com/documents/docs/DOC-33126"
If you go for new box it will create unnecessary multiple activity, hence better to increase hardware on existing box.
