Today, SAP Services (formerly SAP BSCE), Concur, and SAP Ariba celebrated the grand opening of their move into one multi-purpose building, Metronom, in Prague, Czech Republic. The move aims to connect the teams with the vision of ONE SAP and fully execute SAP’s vision of being THE cloud company powered by HANA.
The grand opening was hosted by Chief Human Resources Officer, Stefan Ries, Managing Director SAP Services, Andrea Hepnerová, and Chief of Staff for SAP Business Networks and Applications, Nancy Callahan. The hosts provided inspirational speeches, followed by virtual wishes from managers around the world, and interactive Q&A session, and a ribbon and cake-cutting ceremony.
The Metronom office space was created in cooperation with current SAP Services, Concur, and SAP Ariba employees and it offers not only top working environment but also space for active relaxation and free time activities. From day one, employees across the business units were involved in designing the new spaces and were able to influence the final look and form of the offices including the design & equipment so that the space truly reflects their preferences. Metronom is equipped with themed relaxation rooms, a gym and outdoor fitness stations, billiard tables & table football, a sky bar, terraces with small gardens that can be used for shared urban gardening, phone booths and privacy pods, a kids’ room, and more.
The space of 24,000 square meters accommodates the approximately 1,700 employees of SAP Services, Concur, and SAP Ariba.
“The main reason for investing in this new space is not only the idea of uniting the SAP entities in one place but also the growth the company has been going through. Our new offices offer the capacity for further expansion and provide the employees with a top-quality working environment.” Said Andrea Hepnerová, Managing Director, SAP Services.
The Metronom office was designed with an emphasis on a smart and flexible way of working, equipped with the most modern technologies. The space promotes a healthy lifestyle with ergonomic tables and chairs, bicycle holders & repair tools, fitness areas, and terraces for grilling and gardening.
Metronom is a BREEAM certified energy-efficient building and aims to minimize CO2 emissions, rationalize the use of natural sources, limit risks to health and environment and minimize energy consumption. The building is constructed from local and ecologically accredited materials and the furniture was selected for its low environmental impact. The building also supports waste sorting and the energy consumption is monitored through presence detectors.
Besides Concur and SAP Ariba, the cloud-based business commerce network, SAP Services provides HR, finance, administration, and marketing services to SAP branch offices around the world. Joining the subsidiaries and their forces together also makes SAP as a company stronger to provide the customers with more complex services.
