Back in October I began a journey of exploring the SAP HANA express edition (HXE) together with the Intel Nuc. I wanted to see how far and what I could do with the smallest version of HXE as well as the version requiring the least amount of physical memory to run.
The Intel Nuc has been absolutely perfect for this journey and has made it so easy that I tend to not even think about it sitting there on my desk anymore, it’s just there and fits so nicely into my office that it’s hard to believe that such a powerful device is just sitting there. Like the most perfect piece of developer gear I have!
During the course of my journey I created several new pieces of content to share and had a brilliant time sharing my experiences during the SAP TechEd events and at several SAP CodeJam events and other events.
My blog series consists of 8 blogs and are associated with several tutorials and how to guides.
- Intel Nuc and SAP HANA express edition
- HANA Express and Me
- HANA Express, HANA Studio and Me
- HXE and Fuzzy Search
- Enhancing your HXE Server Image
- Customize my HXE
- HXE customizing, the landing page
- HXE enhancing your custom landing page
Some of the tutorials were actually existing ones and some I created new to fill in some gaps to ensure that everyone can get started and see the power of this HXE version.
- Setting up your Intel Nuc
- Create your first project (check HANA Express, HANA Studio and Me)
- Do it web based
- Enhance your system
The past 2 months have been absolutely thrilling working with the Intel Nuc and HXE and I’ve been able to explore so many aspects, enhance our online material and really just try out a few individual projects that I had been wanting to work on!
The perfect addition to my developer kit, Intel Nuc
Next up, HXE server + applications!
