Many customers waited for this: SAP released the Rapid Deployment Solution version 2.80 for the product SAP Identity Management 8.0+ (RDS-IDM). It provides predefined content to enable you to start with the implementation of SAP Identity Management in a very short timeframe.

Just like the previous RDS for SAP Identity Management 7.2, this solution contains a step-by-step guide and the accelerators you need for a successful initial implementation of SAP Identity Management. The documentation package (step-by-step guide) contains details on typical features, additional technical information and implementation procedures. This solution reduces total cost of ownership by simplifying assignment of roles and privileges to users, triggered by human capital management events.

What’s new with RDS 2.80 for SAP Identity Management 8.0:

  • support of SAP Success Factors as source for employee master data
  • support of SAP HANA as a target system
  • support of all databases supported by SAP IdM 8.0: Oracle, MS-SQL, IBM-DB2, and SAP ASE
  • great focus on supporting the existing and former functionalities, such as mass administration, predefined approval workflows, improved forms (formerly known as WebUI tasks) and support of system specific user attributes

    Hi Kristian,

I was looking for this latest version of the rds package but did not find it (yet)…
Could you share how to navigate or perhaps a direct link to it please?

    Regards, Wim.

      Hi Wim,

actually, the link given above should work for you.

If it does not, here is the menu path with which to find the new RDS-IDM pages:

      http:\\service.sap.com

The SAP Best Practices Explorer will launch. On the upper right corner: click on “Download” to get the package.

      I hope that helps.
      Kristian
