Off to Barcelona

Things have been really busy lately both at work and family life, and this has drastically reduced my participation in this community.

However, I’m glad to have a couple of hours to spare right now as I’m in transit on my way to Barcelona. I’m really excited to finally be attending my first ever TechEd – looking forward to all the learning as well as meeting some of you that I have only previously interacted with online.

Also, as I’ve blogged about previously, it is such a privilege to be able to host one of the Community Sessions this year. Do feel free to join me on Wednesday 1:15pm at L14 as I present a lecture (filled with demos) on the topic Enhance Productivity for Java Development in SAP Process Orchestration.

I will also be at the Gathering with Community Session Speakers Networking Session hosted by Jason Cao on Tuesday 2:30pm at the Showfloor.

If you do see someone with the following T-shirt walking around Hall 8, that will be me! Do say hello – you might even be able to participate in #CatchAMentor and win some cool tickets!

When TechEd wraps up on Thursday, I’m also looking forward to the Empathy event – if you haven’t registered, do so, I heard there are a few more spaces left.

Below are the picks for my agenda over the next few days. A lot of it are integration-centric, but hopefully I get to have a flavour of what the other tracks are offering too. Nothing is really set in stone (apart from my two hands-on workshop session), so if you think there might be some other session that would be beneficial, do drop a comment here!

See you all soon!

First TechEd?  Very nice, hope it met your expectations.

My first was in Philadelphia in 1999.  For me, it's always a mixed bag, as I get to play with new shiny software, but then when I go back to the office realize it will be 2 or 3 years until we install and use it (if ever).

What are your top 3 takeaways?

      Hi Jim

Having no personal baseline to compare it against, I must say I enjoyed it thoroughly. There were only a few minor hiccups, but overall most aspects of it went well for me. I had some good tips during the Preparing for TechEd Community Call as well as from some of the "veterans" during the Mentor meet up on Monday night, so that helped me a lot.

Yeah, I totally can relate about the new shiny software thing. I can imagine it would be same for me as well, but nonetheless it was a good experience.

There's not much new and dandy stuff happening in my primary area of expertise these days (PI), so my takeaways would be on the potential of some of the so called "new shiny software".
      1) API Management
      2) IoT
      3) Just meeting and networking with some of the other attendees that I have only ever communicated with online.

Good thing at least Jim's comment didn't drown in my Activity stream. 🙂 No way I would've found this (please use SAP Mentors secondary tag, folks!).

Hope you get to meet the SCN team and ask them some difficult questions. 🙂

Thanks for the tip on the tag, Jelena. I've added the tag for that now.

I did get to meet the team, but as you know, there are so much going on, so I could only chat briefly. Plus, they do seem to be aware of the size of the mountain ahead, and the theme of the evening was Empathy!!! 😉
