The first SAP S/4HANA CodeJam hosted in Stockholm October 28th 2016
The first CodeJam with focus on S/4HANA has been hosted last friday october 28th in Stockholm. 30 participants coming from different industries meet at Avega to explore and practice the functionalities offer by SAP S/4HANA on technology perspective.
The main focus for this first Session was CDS – Core Data Services – with its powerful capacity to bring conceptual and implementation level closer together on one hand as well as the discovery of the benefits of CDS views compared to ABAP Dictionary Views on other hands. Last but not least, features like annotations and ABAPCatalog annotation were discussed also.
Below some impressions of the session as well as some of the small talks with took place before, during and after the CodeJam.
Hi Jerome,
thanks for sharing!
From reading your blog I get that this CodeJam is mainly about CDS-Views (which are in no way exclusive to S/4HANA).
So is the topic name “S/4HANA” mainly for ‘marketing’ reasons?
Is it about (creating) CDS-Views, and the demo system just happens to run on S/4HANA?
Or do you realy take the S/4HANA-specific CDS-Views into account, e.g. exploring, what NSDM_E_MARC is all about and how to enhance it?
Reason I’m asking all this, is that I try to evaluate if I should attend such a CodeJam in 2017….
best
Joachim
EDIT: PS: Could you please (secondary) tag this with "CodeJam"?
Hi Joachim,
we will be having several Part in this topics. The first one is the one dealing with CDS-ViewS which are indeed part of S/4 HANA and not exclusively to S/4HANA as you stressed. The second part of this series will be publish very soon.
The enhancement will be the content of the third part.
Regards
Jérôme
Hey Jérôme,
thanks for clarifying!
I take it will be announced up fromt which "part" of the S/4HANA Code Jam an event is, right?!
(
Part 1: S/4HANA CDS-Views
Part 2: S/4HANA [secret topic, soon to be announced] :-)]
Part 3: S/4HANA enhancements.
)
Again, this is important when considering what event to attend. (I know attending a CodeJam is always beneficial and fun, but you have to make a decision if it's worth taking that day off and maybe travel a long distance. The specific topic is a huge factor in this decision).
best
Joachim
(PS: I coldn't reply to your comment (see screenshot), don't know why, so I'm creating a new one...
