SAP Customer Checkout (CCO) – cashless payment
Cashless payment is the future
Cashless payment becomes more and more important in the future. And even the Germans start to pay cashless with their bank or credit card.
Especially in the high volume market, i.e. many people want to pay as quickly as possible as in a football stadium, the cashless payment is definately the future.
Quick selling process
We developed a plugin for the SAP Customer Checkout solution, so food and beverage can bought and payed within seconds:
Therefore in the stadium the waiting queue is minimized and for the cashier, there is another payment option to choose:
(remark: auto selection of GiroGo as a primary payment method is possible as well)
Automatic matching with the bank account:
Payments in both directions possible
Due to the quick plugin, the payment can be done within seconds.
Even the pledges can be refunded with this plugin, i. e. for mugs or glasses.
Quotation of the customer
Michael Becker, head of marketing and project manager at SV Sandhausen e.V.:
“Now we are able to focus more on the customer needs and the satisfaction of the customer. Payment is a positive side issue – quickly handled.”
Extension of SAP Customer Checkout
Overall, there are a lot of possibilities to extend the usage of the CCO and to expand the use cases of the customers in order to improve the processes. There are many extension points and with some B1i-knowledge, every partner ist able to customize the SAP Customer Checkout product.
CCO fits perfect to SAP Business One with the UNIORG interface!
True.
And with the UNIORG integration to SBO, further advantages, like available to promise functionality or mixed shopping cart (online ticket + mechandise article) will be exposed.
Great summary.
CCO is a fast and easy solution for small and medium sized companies in each business.

Hi Julian Wehmann,
I found your blog entry while searching for a cashless solution with SAP integration.
We are a company organizing big events and currently thinking of implementing SAP Business byDesign. As we provide cashless payments to visitors we have worked with different partners up to now. As we love using just one solution, we are now also talking with SAP about customer checkout. But we still need the part of cashless payment and this is where I'm currently doing some research on this. Do you have any experience with cashless solutions or was your blog 'just' for the integration part of an external cashless system within SAP customer checkout?
I would very much appreciate your feedback!
Thx in advance and kind regards,
Andrea

Hi Julian Wehmann !
I have been working on integrating a Bank Terminal with CCO and I have found the method (isTransactionalPaymentRequired) to identify when a transactional payment exists in Payment-Item’s collection, however, it seems to be triggered only when the receipt is going to be posted/confirmed.
I have noticed that when multiple card-method payments exist, they are executed sequentially and that is something that we do not want to happen.
Therefore, I have attempted to catch the corresponding method to the button "OK" (which I think triggers an action that has to do with adding a Payment Item), however, I have not found anything that allow me to achieve this yet.
So first I would like to ask you, is there any method that catch the event when a Payment Item is added?
or
Using the method isTransactionalPaymentRequired (when the receipt is posted/confirmed) is the only way to trigger anything related to Transactional payments?
Any help will be really appreciated, thanks in advance and best regards!
What highlights to me after reading the blog post is the point of cashless payment that had already started this past years. Most businesses right now are switching to cashless payments methods in an effort to minimize physical contact amidst the pandemic. Contactless credit cards and mobile wallet applications remain the most common methods. However, the arrivals of the different arcade cashless card systems offer solutions to most entertainment industries. A global survey from MasterCard would have you believe cash is verging on extinction. 82% of respondents said they believe cashless payment options are "cleaner" in these COVID times. "Cashless payments are up to 10 times faster than other in-person payment methods, enabling customers to have hassle-free transactions," the report summarizes.
Technology has given financial transactions the best transformations. Cashless payment systems stimulate economic growth by making payments easier and convenient for all. The increasing availability of digital tools like mobile wallets, arcade cashless card systems, mobile point-of-sale devices, and arcade debit card readers propose choices for businesses and customers. While it may be tempting to make an immediate switch to cashless payment methods, the technology required to support cashless transactions is a costly investment. Before spending money you do not need to, take note of which cashless payment methods would best accommodate your clients’ needs and existing business operations.
