We have a new feature in the Resource Scheduler work center with the 1611 release.
Not all assignments under the Resource Scheduler – Assignments work center view are Editable.
Reason/Explanation:
The Assignments in the system cannot be edited because the assignments are not marked "Released".
With 1611 only released assignments become available to the technician to process (change status), this is a process improvement made. Assignments can be edited from Assignment TI only if the assignment is released by the resource planner to process it.
To release: Select the relevant assignment in the Resource Scheduler Gantt chart. Use the Gear Wheel on the top right to select Edit Assignment option to release.
The release of assignment feature was enabled in 1608. On Resource Scheduling view, using Edit Assignment button the assignment can be marked as "Released".
With 1611 we also support "Automatic Mass Release of assignments using MDRO".
As an example: The administrator can define an MDRO to release all assignments for next 48 hours for a particular Service team.
Navigate to Administrator Service and Social Configure Assignment Release Run and create NEW MASS DATA RUN OBJECT TEMPLATE RUN. Then create a new MDRO run and set the parameters.
