Announcing SAP HANA Vora developer tutorials and SAP CodeJam availability

SAP HANA Vora provides an in-memory processing engine which can scale up to thousands of nodes, both on premise and in cloud. Vora fits into the Hadoop Ecosystem and extends the Spark execution framework.
That’s what the theory says. But if you are like me, then no theoretical explanation can replace practical exercise for you. And you surely would be looking to try it out by yourself.

Good news: SAP HANA Vora, developer edition, became available at SAP Cloud Appliance Library in May this year. Developer edition means SAP gives you a chance to explore and develop own solutions on SAP HANA Vora within free developer license. You just need to cover costs of using infrastructure of a public cloud provider.
Great news: last month we updated the image of SAP HANA Vora, developer edition, to include some sample data and exercises. And now the first series of developers tutorials is available. Simply go to Tutorials Navigator and look for SAP HANA Vora, or check the Tutorial Catalogue. Note the “Provide feedback” link on each tutorial’s page, so please use it to share with us your ideas how to improve these tutorials.
Fantastic news: with that we are making SAP HANA Vora an additional topic available at SAP CodeJams. Typical SAP CodeJam is a 5 to 6 hours hands-on coding and networking event where attendees share their knowledge and collaboratively develop with SAP technologies, platforms and tools in a fun and casual environment. The events are developer community focused and usually an expert there is a product manager or developer architect of the product from SAP. Interested? Simply read “How to host a SAP CodeJam” and follow the steps listed in there.

Enjoy it! And please share your experience here.
