How do you determine the best fit Cloud HCM offering for your organization? You evaluate your business needs against the products and services available in the market, and seek out the vendor best equipped to assist you in your journey to digital transformation. More and more organizations across both larger global organizations and midmarket enterprises are conducting such an evaluation seeking streamlined best practices, reduced integration complexity, consistent user experiences, ease of reporting and insight, and reduced complexity in local and global processes. As a result, buying patterns for HCM technology have shifted to embrace a single vendor-sourced global system of engagement with integrated talent management.

Independent research firm Gartner provides assistance in answering this “best fit” question in its recently published research “Critical Capabilities for Cloud HCM Suites for Midmarket and Large Enterprises.” Gartner analysts conducted research across eight Cloud HCM suites evaluating vendor capabilities, product satisfaction and vendor-customer satisfaction against the most common use cases for Cloud HCM suites. I'm very pleased to share the following:

  • SAP SuccessFactors scored highest in best fit for the “Core HR + Talent HCM Suite, Larger Global Organizations" use case

  • SAP SuccessFactors scored highest in best fit for the “European HQ'd Midmarket HCM Suite" use case

Let's take a moment to review what this means for large and mid-sized organizations.

SAP SuccessFactors Cloud HCM Suite scores best fit for organizations with > 5000 workers

The results of Gartner's months-long evaluation found SAP SuccessFactors with the highest rankings in Cloud HCM for Core HR and Talent Management for global organizations with more than 5000 workers. SAP SuccessFactors’ ability to manage the complexities of multinationals with larger workforces, balanced with a proven TCO, contributes to our receiving the highest scores in this use case. Our depth and breadth of functionality, including the industry’s most comprehensive HR localization support, delivers best practice standardization, helping organizations reduce complexity and simplify processes. A new user interface, released in August 2016, delivers a consumer-like experience that is intuitive and mobile, while Intelligent Services streamlines and automates processes across the enterprise.

Leading global organizations across geographies and industries are going “All-In” with SAP SuccessFactors Cloud HCM Suite as they look to simplify processes and improve efficiencies while adopting innovative and intelligent solutions to drive digital transformation. This latest recognition by Gartner as the best-fit solution for larger organizations operating in multiple countries that desire an integrated solution for core HR and talent management processes is yet another proof-point of our leadership in this space. However technology alone is not enough: our large ecosystem of implementation, technology and application partners also contributed to our leadership standing in this area. Innovations with partners includes our recently launched managed cloud payroll offering for those clients seeking to move Core HR+Talent to the cloud, while ensuring minimum risk to their current payroll operations.

European-based MidMarket Organizations are best served by SAP SuccessFactors Cloud HCM Suite

SAP SuccessFactors is not just for large global organizations. Gartner also evaluated vendors for fit against the use case of European-based midmarket organizations with 1000-5000 workers. Once again, Gartner assigned SAP SuccessFactors highest scores. The typical organization in this use case is described by Gartner as “moderately sized organizations with a relatively even workforce distribution across multiple countries in Europe, MENA and the Americas.” Furthermore, Gartner notes that these organizations require “strong support of core HR (including localizations) and talent management” with a “focus on quick time to value and lower TCO.” Our knowledge of the global market is deep, with our roots based in Europe, and we routinely bring local requirements to a broader global audience for improved workforce practices (for example, our globally available apprentice management functionality was driven by local European requirements). Our large ecosystem of partners are well suited to meet the many diverse and often complex needs of this segment, and we work closely with our partners to help drive cost-effective implementations, services and support.

We’re proud to have earned the highest scores for best fit for both mid-sized and global organizations (those headquartered in Europe or global organizations based anywhere in the world) that desire an integrated Cloud HCM solution for core HR and talent management processes. Today, more than 4900 customers leverage SAP SuccessFactors Cloud HCM Suite, with over 1250 enterprises selecting SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as a critical component of their digital workforce transformation.
