On September, 12-13, the 11th International and 19th German SAP Conference on Real Estate Management 2016 brought together SAP customers, partners and interested parties to exchange the latest trends and to get a glimpse of new innovations in the industry. Held at the Maritim Hotel in Berlin, SAP’s Line of Business Real Estate also announced their upcoming solution, SAP Cloud for Real Estate.

SAP’s existing portfolio for the real estate industry already experienced a wind of change two years ago. With the arrival of the SAP Real Estate Cockpit, a modern and user-friendly dashboard entered the scene appropriate for end-users demanding a consumer-grade user experience.
Following SAP’s mantra of becoming the Cloud Company, the Line of Business Real Estate started developing their own cloud solution to top off SAP’s cloud offerings. Released as beta version at the beginning of October, the new solution targeting corporate real estate managers will be most likely fully released at the beginning of next year. In the meantime, the team based at the SAP Innovation Center in Potsdam is currently focusing on 'Location and Contract Management' while diving into the world of virtual reality, co-innovation and partner networks putting the end user at its center. The functionality 'Employee Productivity' is planned for a sequent release.

Seamlessly integrated partner applications such as from mature start-ups Leverton and NavVis determine cost and time efficient work and problem solving. Simple contract documentation and indoor visualizations support both personal achievements and those of technical devices guaranteeing daily routines for everyoneFrom a global perspective of portfolio managers down to the ones who run your very own office: SAP Cloud for Real Estate will cover the roles of various end-users connecting the people who operate buildings with the people who operate in them.

Customers and partners attending the conference appeared thouroughly delighted about experiencing a visible update in SAP's user experience. Jan Saar, Head of Process and IT at SwissProperty and one of the very first SAP S/4HANA customers proved his enthusiasm by stating: "I would love to see every SAP solution looking like SAP Cloud for Real Estate!"

The newest kid on the block in the Finance portfolio was introduced on stage by head of LoB Real Estate, Tobias Decker, and Director of Business Development LoB Real Estate, Marco Hofmann, in their keynote as a planned innovation. Besides technical features, the duo highlighted the young and inspiring team behind the solution, a group of international millennials, located in the area of Germany’s tech hub Berlin. Further, both welcomed Rainer Mangold from co-innovation partner Bosch on stage to illustrate their end-user centric development and its outcome: Efficient, easy-to-use and compliant to IFRS16. With the help of a dedicated workforce and partners the SAP HANA Cloud Platform family is growing and on their way to transforming another industry.
