Known Issue with Windows Server 2008 on Current Processor Generations

You run SAP kernel release 7.45 on Windows Server 2008?

Your SAP kernel behaves unstable and you determine crashes of different SAP executables on an irregular base?

You recently changed your hardware or moved your running SAP system to virtual environments using the newest processor generations?

If the above circumstances apply, check for the following errors:

1. Your SAP 7.45 kernel executables like disp+work.exe or R3trans.exe crash with one of the error messages logged in the developer traces:

"HALT: Windows exception c000001d occurred"
"Exception : c000001d (Illegal instruction)"
2. After an update to kernel release 7.45 you are not able to log on to the SAP system.

The following error message is thrown during SAP Gui logon:

"Work Process restarted - back end session terminated"

If the above circumstances apply, check SAP Note 2330836 for further support.
