Another successful Partner Hackathon projects SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and SAP Digital Boardroom to a new level

Following the success of Partner Hackathon conducted in Palo Alto in late April (http://blog-sap.com/analytics/2016/05/06/partner-hackathon-brings-business-stories-to-life-with-sap-cloud-for-analytics-and-the-sap-digital-boardroom/) SAP Analytics Product Management conducted another successful Partner Hackathon in Bangalore, India. Wipro, Accenture, Atos-Origin and Aumento Technologies were among the partners who participated in the event. There were 8 participants and they created 4 SAP Digital Boardroom contents in just two days for industries spanning automotive, retail, precious metals and CPG.

The Partner Hackathon kicked off on September 19 with SAP team providing an overview of the latest product updates to the SAP BusinessObjects Cloud and SAP Digital Boardroom for the first of the first day. After that the partner teams were provided with the required system information to create their content. SAP team was there to answer their queries and provide guidance but the entire content development including the conception, modeling, data loading etc. were handled by the partners themselves. The partners worked through late evenings and early morning of day 1 and 2 to complete their content before their presentations at 9 am on day 3. On day 2 they tested their content on SAP Digital Boardroom in SAP Labs office in Bangalore to make sure that their configurations in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud were compatible with the requirements of SAP Digital Boardroom. For many partners, this was their first ever experience to even see the SAP Digital Boardroom let alone work on it. In spite of that they came up with impressive content on day 3. Mr. Sanjay Dhingra, head of SAP Analytics sales in India and Ms. V. Amudha, from Product Validation and Quality Management, were the judges for deciding the award winning contents. Aumento Technologies and Wipro won the first and second prizes respectively for their content.

Aumento Technologies liked this format better than the training because this gave them opportunity to bring some their customer scenarios to life in the latest SAP technology and it also prepared them to talk to the customer in more productive way. Wipro, who already have their own in-house SAP Digital Boardroom, wanted to take this to the next level by leveraging this invaluable experience with the investment that they have made in SAP Digital Boardroom. Accenture enjoyed this experience and wished that SAP conducted this more often for other products also.

Though SAP Analytics Product Management led this event, it could not have been a success without the dedication and efforts of Analytics RIG team and SAP Solution Validation team. We can now expect many more such successful events in other parts of the world as well.
