Dear SOLMAN Consultants,

The URL monitoring feature is available in SOLMAN 7.1, and it is classified under “Additional Monitoring”.

The Tx: GPA_ADMIN takes you to the Additional Monitoring.

When to use URL Monitoring ?

Please note that, the URL monitoring uses SAP Standard template , and no customization of the monitoring metrics/templates are possible.

You can use URL monitoring feature to:

  1. Check the availability of the URL
  2. Check the valid certificate of the URL and
  3. Check the lifetime expectancy of the URL

Why to use URL Monitoring ?

No doubt, you can add metrics to monitor certain URLs for the existing monitoring templates like ABAP, JAVA and Web Dispatcher templates.

But, using URL monitoring feature minimize the effort of altering the templates.

You can simply copy the list of URLs in a text document and upload in “URL Monitoring Section” of Additional Monitoring

How to use URL Monitoring ?

Prerequisite

Make sure the system monitoring is already activated for the Managed Object

Steps to enable the URL Monitoring:

You need to access the Tx: GPA_ADMIN. Select the “URL Monitoring” section and click on “Execute”

    Hello Nagendra,

I’m currently trying to configure SSL monitoring for our portals in SOLMAN.

    Technical monitoring is already setup.

Could you please provide steps for configuring SSL monitoring.

    That would be really helpful.

    Best Regards
    Ankit
