Take 3 minutes of your day to get on a digital transformation journey with Lexmark and SAP!

How does Lexmark make sure they stay in the game for more than 20 years? Well they don’t, they stay ahead of the game, all the time. Lexmark is in the high tech industry, by definition, it’s innovating every day in business. Lexmark has successfully transformed themselves from printer selling to data management.

Nowadays, in this digital age, data has become more and more important to many businesses including Lexmark. With the explosion of their data, the SAP HANA platform was the only way for Lexmark to go, SAP HANA provided Lexmark with real-time reporting capabilities giving them the ability to make business decisions faster. Running on the SAP HANA platform, Lexmark’s overall system performance increased significantly: 400% improvement on interfaces, 50% BPC optimization, 75% faster batch processing and overall performance gains as high as 130%.

Partnering with the SAP MaxAttention team, Lexmark implemented SAP Business Suite on HANA as a catalyst to implementing SAP S/4 HANA, the first stage of their overall business transformation which will help them not only make quicker and better use of their data but will also help to propel them into  new markets. During the process, the SAP MaxAttention team helped Lexmark with various services such as migrations services, volume testing, data optimization and expertise on demand.

In addition, together with SAP MaxAttention and the Operations Control Center approach, Lexmark now has automated monitoring and alerts for production systems, batch jobs, standard technical jobs, and user performance experiences. SAP MaxAttention has provided transparency into the status of their SAP solutions giving them the confidence they need to continue their transformation.

To summarize the partnership between Lexmark and SAP MaxAttention, the quote of Billy Sparks, Senior SAP Finance Manager at Lexmark International, says it all, “I don’t think we could have done some of these migrations and implementations without (the MaxAttention team’s) assistance, or it would have been a lot more costly to implement!”
