  • Downgrade Protection function tracks objects in transport requests, and reports conflicts in five scenarios when an object that is saved in two or more transport requests, is released, reassigned, or imported.
  • Downgrade protection is available only for ABAP systems.
  • Downgrade protection can be used in Change Request Management and in Quality Gate Management.
  • The function is identical, however, the user interfaces and the related terminology can be different.
  • For more information on DGP from a transport perspective you can read DGP - Downgrade Protection for CTS
  • To help facilitate with DGP we have created a Housekeeping Tool in Product Support.
  • This Housekeeping Tool is available as of CTS_PLUG SP21 (SAPK-20021INCTSPLUG) with additional information available via KBA # 2363546
  • The tool allows customer's to have all the housekeeping reports (cleanup and update) in one centralised location.
  • Customer's can get a status update on their current DGP settings via the tool.
  • RSCTS_OBJ_TRACK_CONF can be accessed in order to fine tune the DGP settings directly via the tool.
  • The tool will check the number of entries in tables SCTS_TRACK_MAIN and SCTS_TRACK_UPQUE to advise if a clean-up / update is recommended.
  • These are available via "Status of DGP cleanup" and "Status of DGP update".
