Again today, HANA Cloud Platform was everywhere. Whole day was packed with Live lectures, hands-on sessions and interviews focusing on HCP. Here is a quick recap of today’s activities for you. But before that, this is going to be my last recap blog for HCP activities at TechEd 2016. If you miss out any activities for last 3 days, here are the quick links for you:
HCP Live sessions
The day started with session DEV262 on Developing Business Services with Cloud Foundry on SAP HANA Cloud Platform by Sanjay Patil. Audience was excited to understand how they can develop and run microservices that can be published as business services on the marketplace for SAP Hybris as a Service on SAP HANA Cloud Platform.
There was another lecture session DEV103 by Stanimir Ivanov where he talked about how to build Cloud LoB extensions on HANA Cloud Platform.
In the afternoon, there was a session DEV101 given by Jenny Lundberg and Dan Lahl on What is in there in HCP now and the road ahead. Audience was very interested to understand about upcoming services on HCP, HCP on Cloud Foundry etc.
There was another interesting session MOB101 given by Sami Lechner. He talked about new software development kit (SDK) for building native iOS apps on SAP HANA Cloud Platform. The SDK gives developers easy access to the services, aggregated data, and analytics provided by SAP HANA Cloud Platform. It also contains reusable UI elements to fast-track the development of intuitive, powerful, mobile iOS apps based on SAP Fiori.
Wei-Wei Lin conducted a mini-CodeJam- DEV606 where audience tried hands-on exercise to develop HTML5 application on HCP within 20-30 mins that would display the temperature of the cities you want. Audience was excited to see how easy it was to develop an app using HANA Cloud Platform. Here is the Perscope video link for this session here
Great interview by Jenny Lundberg, senior director of Product Management, HCP, where she talked about how HCP is evolving. She also talked about some customer success stories for HCP such as Rockwell Automation and OTE and some partner stories such as Semos, iTelligence etc.Catch the replay here
In the afternoon, there was a live interview with Martin Raepple, Product Owner Security, SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Paul Goetz, Development Architect about how to securely develop applications on HCP. They talked about different topics such as- Delegating user management. to system of records for user account by using Identity Provider, integrating with on-prem or social Identity Provider or Identity Provider hosted on HCP, using XAML as a standard, providing authorization based on roles and advantages of Principal propagation etc.Check out the replay here.
Show Floor was busy as usual. Michael Hill conducted integration clinics again today and there was a huge response as people have many questions around integration tools available under HCP and their particular use cases.
