In 2015, we brought you the course SAP NetWeaver Upgrades in a Nutshell to help you understand the technical background to upgrading SAP systems that are based on SAP NetWeaver. We’ve just opened enrollment for a new course, Upgrade of Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver – Advanced Topics.

This new course will focus on latest tools and features that are essential for SAP system upgrades. The course will start with SAP Solution Manager’s cloud-based Maintenance Planner. The Maintenance Planner is provided to all on-premise customers for upgrade planning purposes, enabling easy and efficient planning of all changes in your SAP system landscape. The Maintenance Planner is the successor of Maintenance Optimizer, landscape planner, and the product system editor in the LMDB. The maintenance planner consolidates critical tasks such as defining product maintenance dependencies, generating stack configuration files, and selecting archives in a single tool. It also helps customers in the conversion process of an SAP ERP system to a SAP S/4HANA system.

Once you’ve learned about the Maintenance Planner in week one, you’ll learn about near-Zero Downtime Maintenance (nZDM) for SAP NetWeaver Java systems. This tool enables you to perform various maintenance activities to your entire stack (hardware, OS DB, AS Java) for SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Process Orchestration and SAP Business Process management, reducing downtime to one system restart. The final week will focus on ABAP stack specific content, covering topics such as the Support Package Manager, SAP Add-on Installation Tool, database migrations, SAP S/4HANA conversions and more. It is recommended that you are familiar with the content from the previous course, SAP NetWeaver Upgrades in a Nutshell. The content remains available for you to access in self-paced mode.

Upgrade of Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver – Advanced Topics is now open for enrollment and the course will open from November 9. Sign up and learn about the new simplified process to upgrade your SAP systems based on SAP NetWeaver.
