Clickstream Event Capturing for SAP S/4HANA Marketing Cloud and SAP Hybris Marketing
Update: Clickstream data capture is now available with SAP Hybris Commerce 6.5. Please refer to this blog for more information.
You can now use clickstream event capturing to send data about user shopping behavior from SAP Hybris Commerce to SAP Hybris Marketing. This functionality is available for integration with SAP Hybris Commerce version 6.0 and higher, and for any version of SAP S/4HANA Marketing Cloud and SAP Hybris Marketing.
When your customers’ most recent activities in the online store are sent to SAP Hybris Marketing, they provide additional fuel for the recommendation and personalization engines. With this input, the personalized store contents and product recommendations provided by the base integration become even more targeted.
You can send the following events to SAP Hybris Marketing:
- View product detail page
- Add to cart
- Remove from cart
- Successful checkout
With the direct, point-to-point integration of clickstream data with SAP Hybris Marketing, you can enjoy fast turnarounds without relying on middleware to connect your systems. Furthermore, the clickstream package allows you to configure an optional queuing capability that enables clickstream events to be staged.
The workflow is summarized in the following diagram:

Hi Emmanuel,
This is very good news! Thank you for posting. One quick question: What is the advantage of using Apache MQ over the direct alternative? Is it just for the purpose of tracking events sent or is there another benefit?
Thanks & best
William
Thanks William and good question. Without Active MQ, clickstream events from the store front will be posted one by one to Hybris Marketing. This is great for quick demos, proof of concepts and testing purpose. If Active MQ is deployed, it offers the possibility to bundle many click events into single OData calls. In other words, Active MQ enables batch upload of events to Hybris Marketing.
Hi Emmanuel,
How do we capture clickstream information from a) a webshop that is not Hybris Commerce & b) any website as such? Do we need a middleware/3rd party solution as such for this purpose?
Regards
Anu
Hi Anu, the package made available here is meant to be used with Hybris Commerce only. This being said, our implementation of the OData services to push click events to Hybris Marketing can serve as a template when integrating 3rd party commerce platforms.
Since we make the source code available, such custom integration are much simpler to implement.
Dear EMmanuel,

Where is this available source code?

Please use the extension sapymktclickstream from the hybris commerce release 6.5 or above.
Use the following procedure : Downporting SAP Hybris Marketing integration to earlier versions of SAP Hybris Commerce
The ycommerce integration is available for every package license of yMKT or, there is any restriction for standard license compared with professional and enterprise?
Hello Josiane,
unfortunately we cannot answer your question about the differences between Hybris Commerce Standard, Professional or Enterprise Edition. For this, please get into contact with a Hybris Commerce Sales representative.
What I can say is that the OOTB integration package with Hybris Marketing is independent from any of these different Hybris Commerce Editions.
Thanks,
Emmanuel
Hi Josiane,
for Hybris Marketing Cloud you can use the Commerce integration in the Professional and the Enterprise edition, not in the standard edition.
