Precision Medicine and Connected Health – empowering the health industries
During my conversations with customers and partners about healthcare, precision medicine and SAP’s connected health strategy continue to be top of mind. Digitization in healthcare addresses the need to run simple (by turning big data into smart data), the need to run with data (by breaking down the information silos) and the need to run in real-time (through the capacity to visualize relevant results within seconds, instead of hours).
SAP’s solutions for precision medicine address these crucial challenges: SAP Medical Research Insights allows researchers to run simple, by providing easy to understand interfaces to complex data. The SAP Connected Health platform brings all data together, be it of unstructured or structured nature; and the underlying SAP HANA services empower the real-time, in-memory analysis of complex information (also see this news release from the American Society of Clinical Oncology). SAP Health Engagement facilitates the interaction between patient/consumer and care-giver; and this real-world-data can be further analyzed with the SAP Connected Health platform.
