Catch SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAP BusinessObjects Cloud – In Action
With Tech Ed – Las Vegas around the corner, there are tons of lectures and hands-on sessions to attend for conference attendees.
I want to introduce a deep-dive Hands-on session – ANP262 – SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAP Business Objects Cloud – In Action in this blog.
In Today’s world, we are victims of huge amounts of data exploding from different types of data sources. Every business needs to make sense of this data. In essence they need to create better insights from this data and this is where it can get very complicated
There is a need to find relevant information spread across these multiple data sources.
For those of you with Data Warehousing background you may understand that I am leaning towards introducing the Agile Data Mart concept.
A data mart is an industry term for a repository of data gathered from operational data originating in transactional systems (and/or other sources), designed to serve a particular community of information workers by forming a basis for analytics, reporting, or a specific use in another type of application. The emphasis of a data mart is on meeting the specific needs of a particular group of users in terms of analysis, content, presentation, and ease-of-use.
Agile data marts are a type of data mart that offer analytics and reporting on data acquired from a transactional system. When deployed in SAP HANA, they may offer advantages of flexibility when compared to taking a more comprehensive approach to organizational information management, such as deploying data marts within the context of an Enterprise Data Warehouse.
In the hands-on session at Tech Ed Las Vegas [ ANP262 – SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAP BusinessObjects Cloud – In Action ] you can get your hands dirty and get deep understanding about SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAP BusinessObjects Cloud. You will create an agile data mart. You will learn how to use Smart data Integration to load some of the data, see how you can use Integration Services. You will be loading live twitter data into HANA. Perfect use case for an agile data mart scenario and it can only get better when you visualize this data on dashboards with SAP business Objects Cloud. If you are one of those geeks who are hungry for more, no problem we can also walk you through additional optional exercises using Smart Data Integration.
These are the key areas we will be covering during the session –
- Smart Data Integration: Load tables from ABAP backend to SAP HANA in SAP HANA Cloud Platform
- Integration Services: Load Twitter data into SAP HANA in SAP HANA Cloud Platform
- Model basic SAP HANA views
- Create dashboards in SAP BusinessObjects Cloud
- Comes all together into Fiori Launchpad
For those hungry for more you can explore the following –
- Smart Data Integration: Load data from OData Service to SAP HANA in SAP HANA Cloud Platform
- Create geospatial views for Twitter data
- Create hierarchical view for session catalog
- Create data mart combining Tweets and Session Catalog data
