The next wave of innovation in mining software solutions will be driven by usage of the newest technologies in Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), mobility, autonomy, geo-sensing, analytics, and even 3D printing. These technologies are not only game changers – they will become a necessity for survival with gains in operational efficiencies from automation and real-time planning, to total workforce management, and much more.

Reality today – massive disconnect in data separates IT/OT

In mining solutions today the operational mining systems operating at the mine site level have to deal with a high level of uncertainty and unpredictability in their data and processes that ERP solutions are not exposed to, hence the two worlds have remained separate in the past. However, the data generated by these operational systems ultimately ends up in the corporate SAP platform through some manual file transfer or data entry mechanism. This is fraught with problems, severely compromises data integrity, and brings uncertainty into the corporate governance process when the “one version of the truth” is to be relied on to produce reports, forecasts, or business analytics.

Ability to finally merge IT and OT is key to the Digital Mine

SAP have been working with RPM for the last four years to complete the technology merger which enables the “below the line” operational solutions (OT) to fully integrate with their relevant SAP “above the line” solution (IT) to synchronize an enormous wealth of data back and forth and to make the physically separate systems logically whole. This enables mining companies to:

  • Make better real-time, data-driven decisions

  • Make operations more automated, predictable, and agile

  • Transform traditional labor workers into knowledge workers

Join us to hear how two technology leaders have collaborated to solve legacy problems in mining solutions, giving mining companies access to integrated systems that other industries have taken for granted for many years.

We respectfully invite you to join this conversation at MINExpo in Las Vegas.

Come join RPM and SAP on the show floor together in booth 6397, next to the Caterpillar booth. We encourage you or colleagues to book a meeting today.
