Part 7 : SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SR1 (+ SPS03) : SLD Configuration

Hello Friends,

My previous blog is for installing Wily Introscope

Once your system is up and running first thing you need to do is configuring SLD in SAP Solution Manager (If you are using local SLD)

In order to configure SLD login to NWA and go to Configuration >> Scenarios >> Configuration Wizard

Open Functional Unit Configuration UI

Provide password for users

Continue Setup a new local SLD

Wait till process complets

Once your SLD is ready upgrade CR content

Upgrade CR content as per SAP note: 669669 – Update of SAP System Component Repository in SLD

Once your CR Content upgrade finish – Choose Administration -> Settings -> Server Configuration, choose the Perform Role Mapping button and confirm.

Confirm

Now your SLD is ready for SAP Solution Manager system

Next step is Install DAA

Thank you for reading

Yogesh

      Hello Yogesh,

I had upgraded to SAP Solution Manager 7.2.

After Upgrade, I had done the Dual Stack split in same host by keeping database.

icm ports are over taken by JAVA stack "icm/server_port_*".

      icm/server_port_0 = PORT=8000,PROT=HTTP
      icm/server_port_1 = PORT=50000,PROT=HTTP
      icm/server_port_2 = PORT=50001,PROT=HTTPS
      icm/server_port_3 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000
      icm/server_port_4 = PORT=50004,PROT=P4
      icm/server_port_5 = PORT=50007,PROT=IIOP
      icm/server_port_6 = PORT=50008,PROT=TELNET,HOST=localhost
      icm/server_port_7 = PORT=50006,PROT=P4SEC
      icm/server_port_8 = PORT=50003,PROT=IIOPSEC

icm ports shows "0" as port numbers in abap stack. If I set the below parameters in abap stack, it will conflict

      icm/server_port_0 = PORT=8000,PROT=HTTP
      icm/server_port_1 = PORT=50000,PROT=HTTP
      icm/server_port_2 = PORT=50001,PROT=HTTPS
      icm/server_port_3 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25000

Can I assign like below parameters in abap stack

      icm/server_port_0 = PORT=8001,PROT=HTTP
      icm/server_port_1 = PORT=50002,PROT=HTTP
      icm/server_port_2 = PORT=50003,PROT=HTTPS
      icm/server_port_3 = PROT=SMTP,PORT=25001

       Hi dear

would you tell me the difference about the SLD between the post you written in below blogs you push the data into SLD, what`s this SLD on that time, and why we need a local SLD? and the SLD when in below post is local or other global?

      Hello Luan,

Its really depends on your requirements. In my example I have is SLD local on solution manager. You can use central SLD if you have one.

There is 3 options to connect your solution manager to SLD

Pick the best for your technical requirements

      Thanks

Strang, Java port is 50200 so getway for java should be 3320, but telnet works with 3300 the abap stack has nr 00.

      Hello,

      Hi Dhamin,

If you have the same  problem to connect abap stack to SLD by using RZ70 thru RFC SLD_UC / SLD_NUC .

You need to add server name and port nr. of java server in SLD .

      Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for this nice blog !

I have one query on defining SLD roles.

I  have configured local SLD on the solution manager 7.2 and performed role mapping as well. But there is no plan to use the Local SLD for solution manager.

In this case, Can I use the PI system central SLD for runtime SLD and source for LMDB roles and set up connections?.

if the central SLD is down for maintenance, except LMDB other functionalities of solution manager can work with local SLD though its not configured anywhere?

      Please provide answer.

      Thanks in advance

      Hi Yogesh,

      Thanks for the Information.

Currently, we’re configuring the SLD in SAP Solution Manager 7.2 as part of post Installation activities. But we’re struck with a error “Validierungsfehler:ABAP administrator password is wrong“.

      See below:

It says DDIC user Password is wrong eventhough it works correctly when we logon to ABAP System. We checked the same user in Java Stack UME and it is active and not locked.

Please let us know if anything is missing from our side.

      Thanks
