On September 8 Google has entered into a
definitive agreement to acquire Apigee, a leader in API Management software. In mid-2014,
SAP and Apigee entered into a partnership for SAP to include Apigee technology as part of the SAP HANA Cloud Platform, API management service and also resell a solution extension, SAP API Management by Apigee for on premise deployment.
The distribution and technology relationship between SAP and Apigee will continue for the foreseeable future. Change of ownership for Apigee has no impact on SAP’s rights to include Apigee technology as part of the HANA Cloud Platform, API management service and the respective SAP solution extension. SAP remains fully committed to provide the SAP HCP, API management service and SAP API Management by Apigee as a safe choice for customers and partners building up their API strategies going forward.
SAP´s roadmap to offer a comprehensive API Management offering to enable digital transformation for our customers remains strong.
In addition, SAP and Google have a long-standing strong technology relationship, and we expect this to continue into the future as well.
