Shutdown / Turnaround, or STO, is always a critical production outage event which has to be planned thoroughly. A clear process helps achieve a safe shutdown in the shortest possible time, at minimum costs. Integration to shutdown planning with project systems for planning and developing very big projects. Additionally, flexible and prompt reaction to changes, such as, rescheduling, daily progress inspections, and extension of the scope of work- improving a company’s overall service landscape.
At the International SAP Conference for Oil and Gas at The Hague, Netherlands, earlier this year, Frank Udo of Shell presented an overview of Building an Asset Data Platform to connect asset information and operations in support of STO.
In Frank’s presentation, he discusses the importance of an integrated information portal in Operations, and how Management of Change is used to support STO.
