Shutdown / Turnaround, or STO, is always a critical production outage event which has to be planned thoroughly. A clear process helps achieve a safe shutdown in the shortest possible time, at minimum costs. Integration to shutdown planning with project systems for planning and developing very big projects.  Additionally, flexible and prompt reaction to changes, such as, rescheduling, daily progress inspections, and extension of the scope of work- improving a company’s overall service landscape.

At the International SAP Conference for Oil and Gas at The Hague, Netherlands, earlier this year, Frank Udo of Shell presented an overview of Building an Asset Data Platform to connect asset information and operations in support of STO.

In Frank’s presentation, he discusses the importance of an integrated information portal in Operations, and how Management of Change is used to support STO.

You can see the complete presentation recorded at the International SAP Conference for Oil and Gas in The Hague on SAP’s YouTube channel here.

You will also find Frank at the Best Practices for Oil and Gas conference in the Woodlands on September 13 and 14, 2016, at the Woodlands Marriott, just north of Houston.  Find more information about the conference and register here.
