The BPC Data Package Monitoring is tacking quite Long as you need to enter the Model on EPM. This solution gives you the possibility to monitor on real time all Data Packages and this also for more than one Environment.

To get the reporting done we use the View UJD_STATUS and do create an extract structure for direct data access.

Go to SBIW Tab Maintain Generic DataSources and generate the extract structure.

Go now to the Tap Postprocessing of DataSources and define the section fields.

With RSA3 you can already test the data extraction. You see now than the result from the view gives much more information as you would use ST13. Especially you see the User , Environment and Model and so on.

Create now on RSA1 the InfoObjects for the Virtual Cube.

Please have a look to the Transformation, you see the Timestamp are changed with a Formula Function.

I think, I do not need to explain how to build the DTP process or the Cube.

See now a picture for the Virtual cube.

Now we are ready to create an Bex query and test our BPC DataPackage reporting.  I did create variables for Status, Environment, Model and User ID:

I did select the Environment ‘ZIG_GLOBAL’. If the Field End Time is empty then the DataPackage is still running.

You can now refresh the query and as soon then field End Time is filed the Data Package is finished.

I hope this will help you to manage and control your BPC Data Package better and faster.
