How to Delete or Remove a Master Data Type from a Planning Area

I have a new test Planning Area where I originally assigned a customer Master Data Type to it and activated the PA.  Now I’ve created a different customer MDT and need to remove the original one.

I have already removed the original MDT from all Planning Levels and Key Figures.  And I have also included the new customer MDT to the PA.

Note that the original customer MDT that I am trying to remove is included in other PA’s and I want to avoid deleting it altogether (just delete from this test PA).

      Hello Ryan,

      Since have to remove the MDT from the planning area you will need to use active deletion.

      In the planning area screen click on pending for deletion and then select the MDT and mark as delete. once you activate the planning area again the MDT will be removed from the test planning area. Since you have already removed the attribute of the MDT from the planning levels so selecting only in planning area screen will work.

      Thanks Deep!  The trick is the sequence of steps to manage the deletion.  First click the icon to "delete active items", then selective the items to delete, then save.  Finally Activate the PA.
