“It is one of the most modern office complexes in Prague and it was also the largest office area rental last year covering 24,000 square meters. Since we started the building process in March, it was an extremely fast build-up,” described Lubor Sladký, the architect of the office fit out in Metronom.

“Based on our meetings with the Facility Management Team and with the committed employees, so called ambassadors of the project, we were carefully choosing the equipment and features of the new building. Metronom is equipped by relax zones, gym and outdoor fitness stations, billiard, table footballs, sky bar, terraces with small gardens that can be used for shared urban gardening, cinema, caravan nap room, phone booths and privacy pods, kids’ room, internal post office and more gadgets supporting pleasant and comfortable working hours. Watching my colleagues during the first days after they moved in, I can say they really enjoy the new premises,” said Ondřej Fanta, Senior Facility Specialist and Project Manager at SAP Czech Republic.

The equipment emphasizes healthy lifestyle. Every single working station disposes an adjustable ergonomic table and chair. To support the employees in going to work by bike, there are showers in each floor, bike stands with repairing tools and pumps. The kitchens are equipped with enough space and microwaves so that the employees can bring their own food from home and dine together. The whole premises is built in high-tech style to support cooperation within and across teams, all meeting rooms and gathering places are connected through screens. This enables flexible and smart ways of working. Thanks to the mobile furniture it is very easy to change the setup and to adjust it to the current needs of each team.

“This project is a showcase in SAP and on the Facility Market of how we design space with the people for the people. It is not only about what they want, it`s about what they need in their day to day business live. SAP is very proud to take this human-centric approach. It does require a state of the art change management, however each discussion, debate and meeting was absolutely worth and shows up in the satisfaction of employees,” said Peter Baumann, Head of Projects EMEA for Global Facility Management at SAP.

Creating the future together

The building was designed to meet the needs of all the SAP employees and the fit out was created in partnership with the employees. There were workshops organized where the employees could share their visions, wishes and needs for the new building including the features of the working space, equipment, design and names of the floors and meeting rooms. The goal was to create the future together in SAP as the biggest cloud company.

“For us the most important part of the whole project was that our employees could take part in designing the working space. We also appreciate that the structure of the building and also the equipment enables an easy cooperation bringing our teams together. We’re also looking forward to SAP Ariba and SAP BSCE teams to move in. It is great that this project enables us to easily meet our SAP colleagues every day,” said Severine Loinard, HR Manager EMEA, Concur.
