Why would you need to create WWI – Parameter Symbols

If you need to output additional data on your WWI Reports for which no SAP Standard WWI Symbol is available you can create your one ones.

Parameter Symbols are used to print data from other SAP Modules – that can be accessed by information you have available on an WWI report (material, subid, vkorg, etc…)

Examples:

  • Customer – Material number from table KNMT Field KDMAT
  • Other material and VKorg dependent data

How to create you own WWI – Parameter Symbols

Newly updated SAP Note 1076165 – Creating new parameter symbols describes the necessary steps in detail.

SAP Help provides a general overview over the different symbol types here, and describe what symbol type to use when here.

    Dear Mark, C.B,

We are using some parameter Symbols in reports but problem i am facing is the values of the Parameters change, the older (historical) reports show the new parameter values.

E.g: We have Z-Table to Hold company specific Data say plant phone number.

We created the parameter symbol for this and used in report.

    1. I create & Release Version 1.0 of the SDS with plant phone number as  +44 1234
    2. Then I change the plant phone number as  +44 6789
    3. Create a new version of SDS 2.0 – The plant phone number shows correctly as it picks it from the table.
    4. But If I open the Historical SDS (version 1.0) – it now has +44 6789 –> Which is incorrect.

Can you advise what would be a workaround for this?

    regards,

    Gaurish
