Transforming a Retail Brand Leader with SAP S/4HANA Finance – SAPPHIRE NOW session
Well, I am a bit slow at blogging, but was reading some of the Sapphire material and this presentation on Carters was really good so I thought I would share it with you all.
This year at Sapphire ,Achim Schneider Global Head, SAP Retail Business Unit , had the opportunity to host York Rasmusson Senior Director, Finance and HR Systems
Carters in a session about how Carter’s/Osh’Kosh leveraged the power of SAP S4/HANA for Finance solution to create an efficient, stable , and scalable platform for growth.
- Carter’s is one of the largest and most popular of babies/young children brands globally. They cover the whole process – from design to manufacturing, to wholesale, to retail distribution. Brands include the Carter’s brand and OshKosh.
- Carter’s in their growth launched a Vision to Value program last year with the support of SAP and Deloitte. Through the deployment of S4/HANA, Deloitte focused on hitting major milestones every 30 to 45 days. The overall project led to improvements in operation efficiency – such as automated journal entries to sib-ledger tie-outs. Along with changing the role of finance – shifting finance at Carter’s from a transaction processing operation to an analytics and decision support operation. They also have seen a large improvement in employee job satisfaction.
- Carter’s is experiencing many more gains from this Vision to value effort – but the core of this effort shows us how leverage the right technology at the right time in the right business area produces great results and more simplicity.
