At the International SAP Conference for Oil and Gas at The Hague, Netherlands, earlier this year, Accenture presented an overview of a project they completed for Murphy Oil where they took them from no SAP, to having core SAP functionality on all their global assets in just 25 weeks.
Hard to believe? Not when you leverage the latest technology in the cloud, supported by advanced analytics, mobile devices, and dashboards with real-time views into operations and profitability.
Murphy’s goal was to use the downturn driven by the low oil price as an opportunity to redirect the organization to drive faster and deep business insights. Murphy selected Accenture to implement the project, who in turn leveraged their Accenture Upstream Direct template to deliver the core SAP functionality.
This template approach greatly increased time to value – Murphy started realizing value from their investment in less that six months. The pre-built and pre-tested configuration also lowered their cost to implement.
Project implementation scope included SAP’s core functionality on HANA, Ariba, and SuccessFactors.
