How to implement an OData provider for My Inbox
You can now connect your custom task provider (or other providers, such as SAP BPM) to My Inbox via Task Gateway with a universal and TCM (task consumption model)-compliant OData adapter.
Connecting your task provider with this adapter helps you to harmonize your landscape by limiting it to one adapter type. This improves the comprehensibility of your landscape and means that less effort is required for implementation and maintenance.
For more information about how to implement this provider, see SAP Note 2304317. You will find a Provider Implementation Guide attached to it.
Hi Lena,
thanks for sharing.
In my case I was not able to load the XML file from the SAP note 2304317 into SEGW. I opened an incident in the support portal.
Has anyone been able to create a TCM OData adapter?
Best regards,
Christian
Hi Christian,
the first try failed due to missing virus scanner customizing for uploading the file. The error message was misleading /IWBEP/MC_SB_FILEIMP 001 'Invalid Model File'. The file is okay there is a misleading note that tells to adapt the file. You need to adapt it only if you do not want to create the whole model.

Hi Lena,
Thanks for the Note, that was helpful.
I have a question around calling the Custom Provider from the standard My Inbox app.
Is there a configuration that can call 2 Task Providers(Standard: BWF and a custom one) and merge both the internal tables and show the list on the screen?
Best Regards
