Going to SAP TechEd 2016 in Vegas, Bangalore, or Barcelona? Get Your Badge On!
Are you going to attend an SAP TechEd this year? Registration for Las Vegas, Bangalore, and Barcelona is now open. When you register, just include your SCN ID or Username in the registration form and you’ll be eligible for the I’ll Be There badge. Similar to previous years, this will provide an easy way to connect with other SCN members while you are at the TechEd.
Then look for other members who have the badge so you can make plans to connect before, during or after the event. Participating in this mission is a fun way to initiate in-person connections with SCN members you’ve been engaging with online. If you’re already following each other, you can DM (direct message) each other and set up a meeting time and location.
If someone has the badge on their profile, you can see which location they’re registered for by hovering over their badge (last year’s example shown to the left). You may even notice some folks, like speakers and other SCN members have more than one badge because they’re going to more than one SAP TechEd location this year.
NOTE: We will be awarding these badges on a weekly basis, and not immediately, so it may take a few days for your badge to show up on your profile after you register. Don’t forget to enter your SCN ID and username no matter which location(s) you plan to attend.
Following is the field where you will be prompted to enter your SCN ID or Username during registration:
In case you are already registered, don’t worry, you can still add you SCN ID to your registration. Here is how:
- Find your registration confirmation email (sender should be SAP TechEd 2016 and the subject should be SAP TechEd 2016 <location> Registration Confirmation) and note your confirmation number.
- Go to Registration Assistance for your event location to access your Registration Record. Enter your Email and Password to log in.
- Select Edit your Personal information
- On the Personal Information Screen, scroll down to the section titled “SAP Community Network (SCN) ID“
- Enter you SCN ID in the input field.
(This is an I-, D-, C-, S-, or P-number. - Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button
Once your changes are saved, the next time we do an upload of the “I’ll Be There” badge for your event location, your badge will appear on your SCN Profile Bio tab.
Assuming that all Topic Leaders can register here, I tried to register to attend Bangalore event but I got an error saying "Invalid User name or incorrect password of your account" from B-Com Web Registration.
Hello Mr. Lakshmipathi I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble registering. Were you able to resolve this issue? Please let me know. Thanks.
Initially, I tried with the existing user id option and I could not proceed. Subsequently, I tried with New User Login and I got a confirmation "Your Identifier: SAPT16-I/306"
Hope to have completed the process.
Hi Sajid,
How often are the badges uploaded? I registered (with my SCN S-user ID) for TechEd last week, but I still don't see a badge.
Cheers,
Matt
I don't see it either. Entered the profile link when registering.
Hello Matt, Jelena,
I just completed the uploads for Las Vegas TechEd attendees. You two should be able to see the I'll be there badge on your profiles now.
Thanks!
And it came with a point! Sweet! 😉
Thanks, Sajid, it's all working now.
Yay, now I have only 967 Points until Diamond. Either attend 967 more TechEds or write a blog liked by 484 people. 🙂
Thanks, Sajid!
Mine is still missing 🙁
Hello Andrew I will be making the latest uploads today. Will update you once completed!
I might have missed this - but will we have speaker badges for each TechED location too?
yes we do have speaker badges for all the locations this year
Awesome!
Thanks Sajid!
I don't have any of the three TechED Speaker badges on my profile yet, so looking forward for bragging rights 😛 - any idea on when they get added? After each event or at the end?
Hello Ashish. I am afraid there is only one TechEd Speaker badge every year. And you have already received it! However, you can always look forward to receiving the attendee badges for all three locations.
Does 'Events Team' also count, or only 'speaker'? Plenty of speaking during 3 days of show floor pod duty to earn the badge...
I also provided the URL to my SCN people profile, not my I# --> will this work for item #5 above?
Hello Jeremy, I am afraid a user has to complete a predefined Speaker session to be able to earn the Speaker badge.
Also, were you in attendance of Las Vegas TechEd? When the uploads are made, only users who submitted a valid SCN ID were awarded. I am happy to look into your case further as I see you have not gotten it yet.
Yes, three full days of show floor EZ02 pod duty in Vegas. BTW the registration site instructions for SCN tie-in may not match your query for ID. I used the path to my people profile URL...
Audrey Stevenson personally applied the green bug sticker to my badge...
Hello Jeremy,
I was able to find your profile link logged in the Event attendance registry as you mentioned. Just uploaded your badge so you should be able to see it in your profile now.
Thanks!
Hi Sajid,
We did a Group registration for 6. Could you please advise if we can include all.
3 of us are having SCN IDs.
Thanks
Madhav
Do you know if the other three attendees have SCN accounts? We can only award to members who have active SCN accounts and SCN IDs.
Dear Sajid,
my SCN number was provided by my during the Registration to SAPTechEd 2016 in Barcelona.
Unfortunately I still miss the badge.
Would you please assist?
Thanks a lot!
Hello Alexander,
I am afraid the Gamification and Reputation Program on SAP Community is currently in stasis. We have not launched Gamification on the new Community yet. You can read more about it here:
https://blogs.sap.com/2016/11/15/launch-of-new-mission-set-on-hold/
Also, unfortunately the last uploads for badges in our old platform were made before we launched this new Community. You can read more about that here:
https://blogs.sap.com/2016/09/21/scn-missions-coming-to-a-close/
As mentioned in the above blog, you will notice that TechEd related missions are on pause. So I will be happy to investigate further once we deploy in the new platform.
Thanks,
Sajid
