Enable SAP BusinessObjects Cloud for data acquisition from on-premise systems on my MacOS

There is an existing blog by Harjeet with detailed instructions on how to incorporate this on Windows, I am document this for those who have mac or *nix.

 

Below are list of components and their purpose:

 

1. SAP HANA Cloud Connector = Send on-premise data to HCP

2. Deploy SAP BusinessObjects Cloud Agent  = Configuration for modeling

 

Install HANA Cloud Connector

 

Access https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/#cloud and download SAP JVM (latest):

Download the HANA Cloud Connector installation

Uncompress and place the folder under the Applications folder:

Start the Hana Cloud Connector by going to the unzip directory and type go.sh:

 

command line start.png

 

The default user name\pass is case sensitive:  Administrator\manage

Setup a HCP account if not already at https://hcp.sap.com/try.html – this is where Hana Cloud Connector uploads the data.

To download BOC Agent access https://support.sap.com/swdc

Click Software Downloads.

Click Support Packages and Patches >> By Alphabetical Index (A-Z) >> and letter “C”

Getting Tomcat to host BusinessObjects Cloud (C4A) Agents:

https://tomcat.apache.org/download-90.cgi

Unzip and place the folder under /Applications/ folder

Change the file permissions

Kick start Tomcat

Download the BusinessObjects Cloud Agent:

Click Software Downloads.

Click Support Packages and Patches >> By Alphabetical Index (A-Z) >> and letter “C”

 

Deploy the BOC Agent (C4A_AGENT) to Tomcat’s WEBAPP directory:

Configure:
