With the SAP Jam Collaboration 1605 release, there are some more great updates to the API to enable developers to get access to more of SAP Jam.

General details of all the SAP Jam Collaboration updates, available in the release, can be found here but we will only cover what is new for developers.

OData API updates

There is a new endpoint available and updates to some of the existing endpoints as well:

*NEW* Away Alert support – great for finding our whether someone is out of the office!

  • [GET] /Members(‘{id}’)/AwayAlerts – get the list of a specific member’s current/future away alerts

In addition to the API updates, our development team have been working on new UI5 widgets to replace the existing widgets. We’ll be sharing more information on this in the run up to TechEd where we have a CodeJam mini-edition session focused on developing collaborative business apps with SAP Web IDE and SAP Jam.

You can explore the new API updates through the interactive API documentation available here. All of the images in this post are captured from the interactive API documentation connected to my SAP Jam developer edition account – if you don’t have your own account yet, you can find out how to sign up here
