Check out the new SAP Business One Note Search!

Hi all,

We are glad to announce the new SAP Business One Note Search. With this newly refreshed application, you will enjoy a clean and intuitive user interface, as well as advanced filter options.

Check the video SAP Note search in the Support Launchpad for SAP Business One

Associated with a better search UI for SAP notes, we also implemented a better end-to-end lifecycle for notes and started a quite extensive project to cleanup and review all existing notes for SAP Business One. Under this project, the number of released SBO* notes has been reduced by more than 18,000 notes, corresponding to ~80% of the non-archived notes as of Aug 2013.

As notes are the most important and central instrument in the lifecycle management of SAP Business One, we set the following objectives:

  • Avoid waste caused by irrelevant SAP notes (spoiling search results, provoke useless accesses, and the use in customer incidents)
  • Significantly reduce the number of notes released to external an increase the quality of the published material
  • Simplify information search for SAP partners and customers, and SAP consultants via SAP notes
  • Lower the total costs in areas of implementation, operation, support, and maintenance

We are constantly working on optimizing the SAP notes knowledge base for you, archiving remaining out-of-date notes and reviewing/improving all other notes (metadata such as validity, clarity, etc.). We also simplified the note categories in 2016, merged the category “consulting” into “FAQ”.

Best, Peter

      Hi,

      Thank you sharing information.

The previous of version SAP note search is better. Because, we can filter like,

      1. Consulting  notes

      2. FAQ notes

      3. Missing functionality etc..

Now in this new version, we don't have such option. It will be better those filter again in this new version.

      Best Regards,

      Nagarajan

      Dear Nagarajan,

      Thanks, I appreciate your feedback!

Your point is valid, we also considered that categories well. Actually we decided against filter options for categories. Categories are not maintained 100% accurate at the moment. Furthermore, we will consolidate FAQ and consulting into one (no clear differentiation currently), and have another new category. These changes will be accompanied by further reviews, assuring highest accuracy.

So far, we might introduce this additional filter option at a later date again.

I recommend anyway a google-like search behavior without using filters at first, but more meaningful keywords to narrow the results if necessary.

Just let me know for any further question. As mentioned, we will soon publish some more information and rollout that changes.

      Best regards, Peter

      Hi John,

      Thanks for your interest!

      Just to make sure i understand your proposal;

would you like the application to start automatically with the "Product version" filter set based on your own system Product version data?

Please let me know if this is what you had in mind, accordingly we can consider such functionality as a future enhancement of this Application.

      Kind Regards

      Guy
