New SAP Press Book on SAP HANA Cloud Integration
Note added on August 30, 2018: A new, second edition of the book is available now.
The first book on SAP HANA Cloud Integration (SAP HCI) has been published recently:
If you like to become an integration expert using SAP HCI, this is your first reference and source of information. On more than 400 pages, you will find everything you need to know in order to work with SAP HCI and to start implementing your own integration project.
The three authors, John Mutumba Bilay, senior software engineer and enterprise integration consultant at Rojo Consultancy B.V., Volker Stiehl, until recently chief product expert at SAP SE and since March holding a professorship at the Ingolstadt Technical University of Applied Sciences, and myself, guide you step-by-step through the world of enterprise application integration and show you how to get started with SAP HCI.
Packed with plenty of tutorials, the book will enable you to set up and run your own integration scenarios – starting from very simple quick start integrations up to complex ones. That way, you will become familiar with the various integration patterns that are being supported by SAP HCI.
Furthermore, the book is the reference for those of you who would like to know what happens behind the scenes during the operation of an integration scenario: you will get an overview of SAP HCI’s architecture and learn how a cloud-based, virtual integration platform works. A dedicated chapter on security explains in detail how data being passed through SAP HCI is protected and how you can implement scenarios implying technologies like digital encryption of data. A chapter on operations shows how you can monitor your integration scenarios at runtime. The book is rounded off by an overview of a couple of productive scenarios which are already based on SAP HCI, like, for example, the integration of SAP Cloud for Customer with SAP ERP. An outlook on planned future developments of the product closes the book.
