Chrome 51 tested with NetWeaver

Chrome 51 beta release includes Credential Management API, reducing the offscreen rendering overhead and more. For further information check the following link: http://blog.chromium.org/2016/04/chrome-51-beta-credential-management.html.

SAP NetWeaver Test Center has been testing Chrome 51 on desktop with NetWeaver versions 7.02, 7.30, 7.31 and 7.40.

For restrictions and limitations, see SAP’s Chrome general note 1655306.

After chrome update to 51 we have a set of different issues caused by new version. I would prevent SAP UI developers from installing it yet.

      Hi Petr,

Thanks a lot of your input! Can you give me more details on the issues you have. Are they related to the changes with Chrome 50?

Or is there any new compared with note 1655306?

      Kind Regards, Andreas

They are connected mostly with Web IDE development:

      1) I couldn't deploly the project to ABAP system while Chrome 50 does it along with IE 11

      2) While testing applications on the localhost there were some troubles with accessing remote Odata

      3) We've got more red console messages for existing applications:

with text like Uncaught(in promise) or TypeError: cannot read property...

Hi Petr, please create an incident for CA-WDE-DPL. But, as far I know this is not supported productively.

      Thanks, Kind Regards, Andreas

Yes, we know that - therefore I would prefer just reintalling back to 50
