SAP Lumira 1.31 for Beginners : (5/5) Share Insights

Share Insights is the fifth of the 5 part series – SAP Lumira for Beginners.

There have been lot of changes in Lumira to make the sharing easier. After v.128 there is no more support to Lumira Cloud and Lumira Server for HANA (LS4H), instead we move to Lumira Lumira Server for BI platform (LS4BIP) and Lumira Server for Teams. From v.130 there is no Share room as most of the functions can be accessed from other parts of application.

For more detailed information on the same, please refer to Hello SAP Lumira Server for BI Platform. Goodbye SAP Lumira Server for HANA and SAP Lumira Cloud.

In the Prepare room, we can find a list of options under the visualization settings,

Export Records : Here we can share a subset or the whole data as an Excel or CSV file.

Print : This option would help us print the visualizations as a PDF.

Send by mail : This would save a screenshot of the visualization as a PNG and attach it to your mail.

Once the Storyboarding is completed we can save the whole document as .lums file. This can have a combination of the datasets, visualizations and storyboard in use. The .lums file can be usually found in My Documents>SAP Lumira Documents in your local desktop which can be shared by mail or a shared drive.

In order to share the document in the BI Launchpad or Server for Teams, we use the File > Save As option,

Once you enter your credentials you can see the folder structure where the documents can be stored. You can access it from the web using your desktop or mobile device. We also have other share options like Open document and Bookmarks in the BI platform.

Lumira documents will only be visible in BI Mobile when the following requirements are all met, when connecting using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform Connection Type:

  1. Lumira, Server for BI Platform 1.29 or higher
  2. BI Mobile 6.3.X or higher
  3. Apple iPad3 or higher (iPad, iPad2 and iPhone are not supported for Lumira, Server for BI Platform content)

This document is a quick reference to the Sharing options available in Lumira. For more detailed examples, please refer to the Sharing Insights in Official Product Tutorials – SAP Lumira
