Healthcare 2.0: Digtial and Precision – at SAPPHIRE NOW!

Over the past decade the Healthcare industry has accelerated towards a crisis condition – chronic diseases and obesity are increasing unabated, costs continue to escalate, the need for medical access remains challenging for remote populations, patients demand transparency into medical analysis and treatment, and the aging population is threatening the overall capacity of the system to meet demand.

Taken further, the advent of Personalized Medicine and the shift towards outcomes-based support models is revolutionizing how providers and patients view healthcare, and also how payers view possible sustainable operations going forward.

Here are just a few topics that have my interest at SAPPHIRE NOW:

1) Delivering Personalized Medicine through clinical innovation by effectively leveraging Big Data

2) Accelerating the Digital Workforce for improved patient outcomes

3) Connecting Military Health through digital integration

4) Understanding the Consumerization of Healthcare and changing patient expectations

In addition to the above sessions, which are specific to Healthcare, the keynotes promise to inspire.  From SAP we’ll hear from Bill McDermott, Rob Enslin, Bernd Lukert, Steve Singh and, of course, Hasso Plattner.  From ASUG both CEO Geoff Scott and Vice Chairperson Keith Sturgill are keynoting.  Yet it’s the guest keynote speakers which are often just, if not more, memorable.  This year Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, will discuss igniting a computer revolution to change the world.  And, Welby Altidor, Executive Creative Director of Creations for Cirque du Soleil will talk about “creative courage.”
