Our story starts with a fist, the SAP fist, empowered by almost eighty thousand women and men with strong and willing hearts to make a difference in the enterprise software firmament including the Internet of Things.

The fist opens up into the all-encompassing SAP hand, our 2016 vision for victory built into a simple analogy with the various strategic enterprise solutions components being parts of the SAP hand.

The most important part of the hand, the palm, is S/4HANA, the digital core at the heart of a digital enterprise. The strongest finger, the thumb, comprises the SAP HANA Platform. The other fingers cover off Human Capital Management, Customer Engagement and Commerce, Business Networks and the Internet of Things. This “SAP hand” serves customers across 25 industries to help the world run better and improve people’s lives.

I mentioned the digital enterprise, powered by the digital enterprise platform offered by SAP.

You would have spied the SAP Internet of Things platform on the Digital Enterprise Platform visual and this is where our SAP Internet of Things platform story takes off.

There are two cloud versions of the SAP Internet of Things (IoT) platform available for private cloud and public cloud deployments in the service of IoT scenarios.
