The CIF organizes SAP Galway’s Corporate Social Responsibility activities.  There are 3 main areas we cover:

  1. Fundraising for our nominated Charity each year
  2. Volunteering Project in the local community
  3. SAP Foundation Grant Programme

2015 was another good year for the SAP Galway CIF.  Our nominated charity of choice was the Saving Grace Trust.  This Trust was set up to help 10 year old Grace Kennealy receive the treatment she requires for a life threatening cancer.  Grace’s Aunt, Katherine, works at SAP Galway.

We raised €7,500 for Saving Grace during 2015.  During the year, the fundraising events included the a Gala Dinner event, the SAP Fun Run at Galway Racecourse, a Table Quiz and finally our Christmas Jumper event day.

Throughout 2015 we also completed 5 volunteering project with local charities or community organisations, donating €14,000. In October we completed the SAP Foundation Grant Program, where we allocated a total of €41,525 to 6 Galway based charities/non-profit organisations. These were Ábalta Special School, Voices for Down Syndrome (Galway), Galway Autism Partnership, ARD Family Resource Centre in Doughiska, Gaelscoil de hÍde and Foróige, Ballybane.

EU Code Week was also very successful with Nuala Allen leading the initiative.  Coding Sessions were delivered to over 1000 students in 4 different schools in County Galway! Watch the Youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkGtInkEbH4

The CIF Committee for SAP Galway would like to thank all SAP Ireland employees for the ongoing support, both in monetary terms and in volunteering hours.  This helps make the CIF the success it is. We look forward to your ongoing support in 2016, where our nominated charity is Down Syndrome Ireland (Galway Branch).
