We are happy to announce a new version of SAP Hybris integration with SAP Business Suite rapid-deployment solution. This solution supports you to set up a best-of-breed omni-channel buying experience provided by the SAP Hybris Commerce with pre-configured integration to your SAP ERP business backend.

The RDS provides content for best-practice B2B and B2C scenarios that can be used as a proof of concept or as an out-of-the box starting point for your project. The scenarios cover the replication of master data from ERP to the Hybris Web shop, to check product availability, to call ERP pricing at check-out and to transfer sales orders created in the Hybris Web shop to SAP ERP.

This version also delivers a new scope item to connect not only a SAP ERP backend to SAP Hybris Commerce, but also a SAP Merchandising for Retail system. With that you can choose which backend you want to connect – and of course depending on that decision different data are exchanged.

Let me start with the retail specific scope item, called

B2C Commerce – Asynchr. Order Management with Asynchr. Pricing for Retail.

In your Web shop as the most important digital commerce channel, customers expect first-class buying experience with excellent response times. At the same time, your organizations want to have product data available in all channels in a consistent way without double maintenance.

In the Retail B2C scenario for asynchronous order management, article data, prices, discounts and stock information are downloaded asynchronously from SAP Merchandising for Retail to SAP Hybris Commerce. The replication of article master data covers single articles, generic articles including variants, and classification data based on merchandise category hierarchy. This automated data replication reduces costs and inconsistencies. Customer interaction happens exclusively through and within SAP Hybris Commerce. Orders are created and stored in SAP Hybris Commerce before they are replicated to SAP Merchandising for Retail for order fulfillment. The fulfillment status is replicated back from SAP Merchandising for Retail to SAP Hybris Commerce. The asynchronous data transfer ensures the best possible response times for end users, with the SAP Hybris Commerce staying completely independent of SAP Merchandising for Retail and its availability with regard to data persistency and business processes. This distribution of tasks, order capturing by SAP Hybris Commerce with order fulfillment in SAP Merchandising for Retail combines the power of the two leading industry solutions.

To integrate SAP Merchandising for Retail with SAP Hybris commerce, the SAP Retail Add-on for SAP Hybris Commerce 1.1 is used. This Add-On allows quicker setup and less costly implementation of projects by e.g. supporting the

  • Replication of classification data based on Merchandise Category Hierarchy
  • Replication of Retail Single Article
  • Replication of Retail Generic Article

in SAP Hybris DataHub and within SAP Hybris Commerce.

The SAP Hybris DataHub maps the Retail Generic Article with its variants into the existing Hybris standard structure of the so-called Multi-Dimensional Product (MDP). This compliance allows to make use of Retail Generic articles and variants in the Hybris accelerators.

Process steps

B2C Commerce – Asynchronous Order Management with Asynchronous Pricing

It’s pretty similar from the process step to the retail specific scope item, but it deals with standard ERP objects, as product data, prices, discounts and stock information that are downloaded asynchronously from SAP ERP to the SAP Hybris Commerce. The order is priced, created and stored in the SAP Hybris Commerce and then transferred asynchronously to SAP ERP. The status of order fulfillment executed in SAP ERP is replicated back to the SAP Hybris Web shop.

B2B Commerce – Asynchronous Order Management with Synchronous Pricing

Product data, prices, discounts, stock information, company and contact person data are downloaded asynchronously from SAP ERP to SAP Hybris Commerce. The order is created and stored in SAP Hybris Commerce and then transferred asynchronously to SAP ERP. Pricing logic is synchronously called at checkout. The status of order fulfillment executed in SAP ERP is replicated back to the SAP Hybris Web shop.
