SAP University Alliances collaborated with the Academic Advisory Board of XIMB to drive the SAP Next Gen Consulting via a Mini Hackathon on SAP Lumira at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar India. The Academic Advisory Board is chaired by the Dean Academics of XIMB, board members include industry representatives and our consulting partners like Deloitte. The event was kicked off by Prof Biswarup Misra, Dean XIM B who thanked both SAP and Deloitte for providing this wonderful platform for his students to challenge themselves and come out with innovative solutions. Rahul from SAP University Alliances spoke about the Next-Gen initiative and the plans to roll it out to the Top colleges jointly with our SAP ecosystem. All the 30 students who participated in the event wore the cool SAP Next Gen Consulting T-shirts The Hackathon was facilitated by Subhankar Pattanayak from SAP Labs Gurgaon where he gave an overview of the SAP Lumira software with hands on exercises on sample datasets. We then shared the 3 challenges by Deloitte who inspired the students to use their creative buds to innovate and collaborate. 1. Traffic management, control and compliance – leading to revenue for the state 2. Recommending engine during the sales order completion leading to opportunities of cross selling and up selling. The recommendation engine takes inputs from social media, market trends 3. Goods and Service Tax - business case study by management students The students were then divided into teams of 5 each which resulted in healthy competition with some cool SAP goodies up for grabs for the winning team and an opportunity to have a long term engagement with Deloitte.
