WEBGUI File Browser available for IE, FF, SF and Chrome
Recently the NPAPI was disabled in Chrome. With this, the Java applet responsible for download/upload operations via WEBGUI could no longer work.
The alternative was presented here.
With the corrections made, the default behavior in each web browser is:
Internet Explorer:
Firefox:
Safari:
Chrome:
But what if I would like to have the same behavior across all web browsers? I mean, I would like to have the WEBGUI File Browser available in all supported web browsers.
This is possible! Just adding parameter ~webgui_updown_noapplet_mode with value 28 in the GUI Configuration will turn on the new interface.
New behavior, after adding the parameter:
Internet Explorer:
Firefox:
Safari:
In Chrome there is no change, as the WEBGUI File Browser is the only possible behavior.
You can read more details about this topic in SAP note 2283933.

Hi Cristiano,
The "GUI Actions and Settings" button does not appear in my webgui.
Could you please tell me what is the cause?
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Martina
Hi Martina,
You are still using the old template-based WEBGUI. In order to have the new rendering, you need to upgrade the kernel to version 7.21 (or 7.22), then set in the GUI Configuration:
~webgui_new_design 1
By then you should be able to see the "GUI Actions and Settings" button.
Kind regards,
Cris

Hello Cristiano,
Is it normal that in IE11 the icons for "Show/Increase disc space" are not active?
For Firefox the icons are also not active. Only in Chrome they are active.
Thank you,
Florin
Hi Florin and Cris,
Even i am facing the same issue with my clients. 'Show/Increase Disc space' option is not available. Were you able to fix the issue in IE11? if yes, Can you please explain how you achieved it.
