Unlocking Locked Objects in SAP Enterprise Portal

Overview :

Many a times when an object in portal is opened for editing and after making desired changes the object is either not saved or logging off is not done properly from Enterprise Portal.  In these case when the same object is traversed again for editing it shows the below error pop ups :

Environment :

  • EP Release Independent SAP Net Weaver

Solution :


The objects gets locked in the Monitoring section of the Portal so that the objects can be edited by a single user at a given point of time.

To unlock the object traverse follow the following steps :

  • Login to the Portal
  • Traverse to System administration –> Monitoring –> Expand Portal –> Object locking
  • Select the check-boxes for the objects that needs to be unlocked.
  • Select Unlock.

  • A message will appear as  “Lock was successfully released”
