The SAP CodeJam – February, 2016 Updates
February is known to be the month of love and we definitely felt the love as we have interacted with over 10,000 developers on several different technologies since the program’s initial launch in 2012. This month we conducted ten events, in eight different cities, and in six different countries. It’s because of developers like you, that we are able to continue to conduct these events, so thank you!
Where have we been?
What are People Saying?
Feedback is very essential to us as it helps us grow and improve future SAP CodeJams events. Here is what our attendees have to say about us this month:
“Looking forward to the next CodeJam – I am not a coder but was able to keep up as the tutorials were pretty specific.”
SAP CodeJam Cape Town, February 5th, 2016
“I liked that the presenters were friendly and the presentation was interactive.”
SAP CodeJam Durban, February 4th, 2016
“It was a learning experience for me, hence I have no background in coding but I could grasp everything, and having a good teacher was a bonus so that’s what I liked most.”
SAP CodeJam, February 2nd, 2016
Topic of the Month: SAP HANA Cloud Platform (SAP HCP)
SAP CodeJam is designed to focus on a single topic, allowing participants to get familiar with one specific SAP platform or technology at a time. This month our events covered three different topics:
- SAP HANA Cloud Platform
- SAP HANA with IoT
- SAPUI5 with Web IDE

Getting to Know the Expert: Anuj Mehta
Anuj Mehta started working for SAP eight years ago and has been an SAP CodeJam expert for the last two years.
Anuj likes being an SAP CodeJam expert because it allows him to interact with developers and go in-depth with them on the topic. “This not only gives me opportunity of sharing knowledge but also to gain knowledge from them. One of the great thing which I like the most about SAP CodeJam is that it conducts between geek to geek and in an ultra-casual environment. This gives chances to leverage their talent and potential to the fullest. Another interesting thing is sharing food and drinks with the audience which not only helps us in making a good relation with the audience but also helps in understanding them better.”
As an SAP HCP expert, Anuj loves explaining complex things in SAP HCP by using simple and basic examples from our daily lives. “For example, to explain the Cloud computing techniques to my audience, I use the Pizza as service example. I also love to show them real customer scenarios basically how our customers use SAP HCP in their products. By doing so they understand the concepts quickly and also helps me in making the session more interesting and exciting.”
Anuj also shared some interesting facts about SAP HCP. “SAP HANA Cloud Platform is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering from SAP It’s an open standard and open-source based platform, which provides toy a complete development and runtime environment to build, deploy and operate cloud applications. SAP HANA Cloud Platform supports JAVA HTML5 and HANA XS run time containers and soon more and more run time containers will be added into the list. This frees you from any infrastructure and IT costs and offers state-of-the art quality of service – availability, scalability, multitenancy. To know more about SAP HANA cloud platform visit https://hcp.sap.com/index.html.”
Fun Fact: Anuj loves to act. “I am very fun loving person and like to meet new people. I like acting and never miss any opportunity of participating in the events where I can show my acting skills. Apart from this, I love to travel and explore new places.”
