As promised in my last blog, I am here at the 11th annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) and really excited to see the SAP, SAMSUNG, SEAT stands and the SEAT car!
Why do we have a car in the booth?? We have been working with SEAT and SAMSUNG and have created a technological alliance to develop mobility and vehicle centric services for the connected car. One of these new vehicle centric services can be experienced here at the SAP booth @ MWC and features the SEAT ConnectApp powered by SAP Vehicles Network Connected Parking.
The SEAT app enables users to reserve a parking space using the phone or car fingerprint recognition. The app directs the driver to the car park and enables the parking gate to be opened from inside the comfort of the car, without having to take a ticket. When the driver exits the car park, with a push of a button on the car’s dashboard, the payment is made and the gate opens. It’s as simple as that!
This is another great example of SAP’s commitment to innovation and IoT, and as Bernd Leukert said “By leveraging standard integration through SAP Vehicles Network (SVN) and SAP HANA Cloud Platform for the Internet of Things, SEAT has access to a global parking inventory of connected ‘on-street’ and ‘off-street’ parking, secure payments via Samsung Pay and seamless integration with numerous parking back-end systems. Together we are enabling a simple urban parking user experience while laying the foundation for additional vehicle centric services.”
