Tenant Request from Service Control Center

The initial tenant provided to the customer is the Test Tenant. Once the relevant stage is reached in implementation, the Production Tenant can be requested from the Service Control Center Workcenter (WoC) -> Systems WoC View

[

Explanation for the different kind of data mentioned in the Blog Post are as follows

          1) Configuration Data : Scoping and Fine Tuning stored in the Implementation Project in the Business Configuration WoC.

          2) Level 0 Data ; Master Data incluidng the following objects

                    I.    Locations

                   ii.    Job Definitions

                    III.  Organization Structure

                    IV.  Transport Lanes

                    V.    Transport Zones

                    VI.  Bank Directory

                    VII.  Product Category Hierarchy

[The objects highlighted in Green is the Level 0 data that is relevant for Cloud for Customer]

          3) Flexibility data : Customizations such as extension fields

Tenant options for Production Tenant Request

    1. Initial Production System

        /wp-content/uploads/2016/02/1_887435.png

In this case, data (Configuration, Level 0 and Flexibility) is not copied from the Source system (Test Tenant) to the Target system          (Production Tenant). No transactional data is copied.

PDI Solutions : PDI Solutions created in the test tenant have to be uploaded again in the Production Tenant.

  2. Production Tenant with Solution Profile Copy from Test Tenant.

              /wp-content/uploads/2016/02/2_887444.png

In this case, data (Configuration, Level 0 and Flexibility) is copied from the Source system (Test Tenant) to the Target system (Production Tenant). No transactional data is copied

PDI Solutions : PDI solutions created in the Test Tenant have to be uploaded again in the Production Tenant and scoped in Business Configuration. They are not copied automatically.

Tenant Options for Test Tenant Request

In this case, data (Configuration, Level 0 and Flexibility) is not copied from Source system [Test Tenant] to Target system [Test Tenant].

                    No transactional data is copied.

PDI Solutions : PDI solutions present in the Source Tenant have to be uploaded again in the Target Tenant.

        2. Initial Test Tenant with Solution Profile

              /wp-content/uploads/2016/02/4_887461.png

In this case, Level 0 data and Flexibility data is not copied from the Source system [Test Tenant] to the Target system [Test Tenant]. However, the Configuration data is copied from the ‘Solution Profile Id’ mentioned in the request. The ‘Solution Profile Id’ corresponds to the ‘Implementation Project’ in the Business Configuration WoC that is to be copied. This ‘Solution Profile’ is deployed into the Target tenant, i.e the scoping and fine tuning done in the ‘Solution Profile’ is activated in the Target tenant.

No transactional data is copied.

PDI Solutions : PDI solutions present in the Source test tenant have to be uploaded again in the Target test tenant.

3. Copy of Source System

               /wp-content/uploads/2016/02/5_887465.png

This is a complete copy of the Source system [Test/Production] (ie Configuration, Level 0 and Flexibility data) to the Target Test Tenant.

Transaction data is also copied from the Source to the Target tenant.

PDI Solutions : PDI solutions present in the Test/Production are also copied to the Target Test tenant.

4. Copy of Source system with Solution Profile.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/6_887467.png

In this case, Level 0 data and Flexibility data is copied from the Source system [Test/Production Tenant] to the Target system [Test Tenant]. However, the configuration data is copied from the ‘Solution Profile Id’ mentioned in the request. The ‘Solution Profile Id’ corresponds to the ‘Implementation Project’ in the Business Configuration WoC that is to be copied. The ‘Solution Profile’ is deployed to the Target tenant, i.e. the scoping and fine tuning done in the selected ‘Solution Profile’ is activated in the Target tenant.

Transactional data is also copied from the Source to the Target tenant.

PDI Solutions: PDI solutions present in the Source Tenant have to be uploaded again to the Target Tenant.

This option is used after Go-Live for Remote Change Projects. The Change Project ‘Implementation Project’ should be provided in the ‘Source Solution Profile Id’ during request. On completion of the configuration and testing in the Test tenant, the Change Project is merged back to the Production.

      Hi,

I have a question about case when I copy test tenat to production tenant and I use option with copy solution profile. You wrote that Level 0 Data also will be copy from test to production, like Organizational model, but what about assigned employess to that structure? Employee also will copy to production tenant?

      regards

      Hi EP,

Employee will not be a part of Level 0 Data.

      Hi EP,

Anurag is correct. Employees are not part of the Level 0 data.

If there is integration between C4C and ERP/CRM, then the Employees are brought in through integration. If not, Data Migration should be used.

      Hi guys,

can you tell me how much it takes from requesting a production tenant with a solution profile to actually delivering it?

      Hi Bartosz,

If there are no issues faced during the Production Tenant set up, it would ideally be delivered within 2 working days.

However, this may increase if there are any issues faced. Hence, it is recommended to request the Production tenant keeping a buffer of 1 week for Provisioning for the worst case scenario.

      Hi guys,

Which of your data types include the data from the Fine-Tune activities marked with a "Yes" in the Repetition-Required-Field? Because this activities have to be done again after a copy with Solution Profile. The other activities are copied

      Thanks and regards,

      Julika

      Hi Julika,

I did not understand the question. What do you mean by data types?

Yes, the Finr Tuning activities marked as "Repetition Required" True have to be redone in the Target Tenant as these activities are specific to each tenant and done directly at the system level. They are not stored in the "Implementation Project" unlike the other activities.

      Hi,

do you know what have to be done after a copy from production to test?

I think there are lots of follow-up activities.

Some due to integration because you get a new tenant URL and need a new logical system...

Do you have any experience with that?

      Thanks and regards,

      Julika

      Hi Julika,

Please refer to the links provided in the blog for further information.

If you are talking about the new Test Tenat, all the integration set up etc have to ber performed manually. Nothing is set up automatically.

      Hi All,

I have one question: If we select the option 2 (2. Production Tenant with Solution Profile Copy from Test Tenant.) In this case can we make the changes in the activities for which repetition required is No into the productive tenant.

      Hi,

We have a client who has requested a copy back of transactional/master data from their ECC PROD system to their QA system.  These are integrated with their DEV/QA and PROD instances of C4C respectively.

We want to copy back the C4C production data to overwrite the DEV/QA data without affecting the integration - what is the best approach for this?  We dont want to overwrite the solution profile/fine tuning.

As far as I can tell we can either request a tenant copy-back but this can't be done for just master/transactional data without the solution profile (can it?), or we can run the replication report again in ECC but we'll have orphaned data in C4C from before the copy which will be challenging to remove (e.g. materials and so on)

What is the cleanest approach without affecting the integration and configuration of the DEV/QA C4C tenant?

      Kind regards,

      Andrew.
